June Holidays – Yay or Nay?

June Holidays – Yay or Nay?

June holidays are finally here! This means that your little ones would be out from school and roaming around you 24/7. We know it can get a little overwhelming, but why not grab this opportunity to bond with them and develop their growth over this holiday! They grow up so fast, if not now, when?

Here, we have compiled a range of bonding activities to do that hopefully entices them toes to start wiggling!

1.Learn more about sustainability at the Gardening Hub

Take a break from the office and spend some time outdoors with your loved ones. Go on a nature walk together at the Southern Ridges of Singapore and visit Singapore’s very own “Gardening Hub” at Hortpark. You may even explore the themed gardens at Hortpark together with your kids, learn more about Singapore’s food source, try different gardening activities, and even be inspired to grow your own family produce together in your own balcony or backyard!

2.Go on a family picnic at the Botanic Gardens

A picnic on a sunny day with your young ones relieves stress accumulated from work and allows you and your family to stay active by playing old-school mini games such as ball games, jump ropes and scavenger hunts. Do not hesitate to reduce both yours and your kids’ screen time and go on a family picnic for some quality family bonding time and simultaneously improve your child’s dexterity through games!

3.Beat the heat at a swimming complex or water park

Finding Singapore too hot but yearning for a day outdoors? Keep cool at the largest swimming complex in Singapore at Jurong East or Wild Wild Wet or Adventure Cove together with your little ones. Teach them how to swim, play with them at the water playgrounds, float around the lazy river and the wave pool to enjoy both the sun without feeling too sweaty! Do not forget your suntan lotion!

4.Escape the heat at Jewel Changi Airport

The newly opened Jewel Changi Airport may be the new place to go to escape the heat in Singapore completely. Allow your kids to experience adventure without the heat by taking them through the hedge maze and mirror maze or even have a go on the discovery slide which gives you a scenic view of the indoor forest and the iconic HSBC Rain Vortex. If you and your loved ones are more courageous, you may enjoy the sights of Jewel through the 50 m-long sky nets that are 5 stories high together.

5.Build your child’s imagination through creative play at Kaboodle

Prefer the indoors and want your child to extend their creativity? We are having a collaboration with Owl Readers Club on 12 June, 10.30am at Kaboodle. Both you and your little ones can engage in a friendly competition to construct Lego-like structures and complete puzzles. The fastest builder in each category will be awarded with a prize worth $50+! Signing up for this event will allow you to receive a goodie bag of educational toys from us, a full day access at Kaboodle and a one time 20% discount for all items from Owl Readers Club’s and our catalog. Hope to see you there! You may refer here for more details on the event.
